Nexplanon Insertion/Removal

Nexplanon is a small, flexible contraceptive implant that is inserted just under the skin of the upper arm. It contains etonogestrel, a synthetic hormone similar to progesterone, which is released gradually into the body over time. Nexplanon is designed to prevent pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and altering the uterine lining to create an unfavorable environment for fertilization.
